Heteromorph Ammonite #Ham-2-d16
Heteromorph ammonites- This is a beautiful Notoceras (Eubostrychoceras) indopacificum ammonite from Madagascar. These strange ammonites lived during the late Cretaceous and rather than having the iconic spiral shape, they evolved a unique heteromorph or irregular shape, looking more like a free-flowing tube. Little is known about how these ammonites moved or lived. They are quite rare and make a great center piece to every collection.
