Huge Rare Chisternon undatum Turtle
This stunning 51" Chisternon undatum is one of the most rare turtles found in Fossil Lake. This was excavated from our American Fossil Quarry and lab prepared by our affiliate Fossilogic in their lab over the past 2 years. The preservation and preparation are exceptional and it will be the focal point in any room.
There were at least 7 species of turtles in Fossil Lake. Some of these turtles reached nearly 6 feet in length and weighed hundreds of pounds. The smaller of the turtles reached no more than 6 inches and also lived in the streams and tributaries of the lake. Their fossils can be found throughout all of the layers of the lake, from its beginnings to the last layers deposited during its demise.
This turtle is 51" long, the shell alone is 21"X14" and the entire piece is 71.5"X36". Get this rare treasure before it is no longer availible.
