This is an amazing skull section of a Romanian Cave Bear. It contains much front right portion of the skull, including the canine, molars and incisors.
The cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) is an extinct species of bear that lived in Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene epoch, from about 1.2 million years ago until around 24,000 years ago. It was one of the largest members of the bear family, with males weighing up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lb). The name "cave bear" comes from the fact that many of its remains have been found in caves, where the bears may have hibernated during the winter.
