Tethysaurus nopscai Skull
Tethysaurus nopscai is a genus and species of extinct marine reptile from the Late Cretaceous period, about 85 million years ago. It belongs to a group of marine reptiles called Mosasaurs, which were closely related to modern-day monitor lizards. It is a transitional species and still had legs modified like paddles but not fully formed. Tethysaurus nopscai was a relatively small mosasaur, with an estimated length of around 2-3 meters.
